Story

When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack by greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a scheme to get revenge and shake up the industry. Loosely based on the 2011-2012 theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a warehouse in Quebec; five people were sentenced to prison. Beautiful setting, and most of the jokes are hilarious.

A lot of Mike’s actions were really questionable, and some of the character confrontations are repetitive

Ham. This is both a strength and a weakness of the show, sometimes adding humor and sometimes taking away from the believability. premise.

A crazy fun half hour!

I think what would have really helped would have been to flesh out Ruth and Mike’s characters more in the earlier episodes, so that there would have been 8 episodes in total. That’s why the series can feel a little underwhelming at times. Ep5 with Jamie Lee C is clearly the highlight of the entire series.
